I suppose this is a good thing, but what about all the cats available at shelters? they should be adopted first.

Yes, I understand that the local animal shelters are over-flowing with animals, including cats but these 'allergy-free' cats are for people that normally could not purchase a kitty because of their allergies. Isn't that a good thing?
I suppose that these gene-modified felines should be neutered first, to ensure that more unwanted kitties don't end up at the shelter.
