My tabula is pretty rasa right at the moment.

Hey GB! Lol!

I should be getting the 3rd SOT book in the next month; now I'm debating to re-read the first two.

I just finished a strange/interesting book called (something like) "The Strange incident of the dog in the night." It is written from the perspective of an autistic savant.

I thought you were going to say "from the perspective of an autistic dog."
Now THAT would be interesting...

That reminds me!
The 11th book, "Confessor" is due out in November this year.
The LAST of the Sword of Truth books.
I'm DYING to get my hands on it, but in a way, I'd almost rather never read it, because it is the end of my very favourite story of all time. I don't know what's going to happen, but I know that I'll love it and hate it at the same time.
Talk about bitter-Sa-Weet!

I'd heard a lot of good things about the book "The Strange incident of the dog in the night".

Yes, the 'Incident of the dog..." is worth reading.
GB's suggestion of having the book written through the eyes of the dog does sound intrigueing!

re: The last book in the SOT series. Even though I have only read the first two, I hope Terry does not do anything too shocking for the last one.

Hi, Guys!

Sawsee, when is your Blogiversary.........?

GB, you could be like Desmond and save it for the last book you read....

Hey, JDH!

Greybishop said...

Hey Lady!
I just checked and Sawsee's blog will be a year old on Sept. 19.

I'll have to be sure to chill some wine.

I'll even put some beets out as h'ors d'euvres. I won't eat 'em, but I'll put 'em out...

Greybishop said...

Oh and Sawsee, not to spoil anything, but the last TWO books from Goodkind have dealt with a single story line and the final one is supposed to tie it all up.
From his website, I found a quote to the effect that "Confessor" will deal with the most important of the Wizard Rules. One that is unwritten...
SO. FREAKIN'. COOL.

Sawsee said...

Hi Lady! Yes, my blogiversary is another 4 months away. I see that I've posted 237 times so far in its short existence.

GB! I appreciate your idea of including the lowly beet in the ceremony! Try to find fresh beets and roast them for 40 minutes and then slather on the goat cheese, a touch of olive oil and balsalmic vinegar. Then you will realize what you have been missing all these years. In fact, you may be so moved, that you may add a slogan to your stores: "Greybishop's Books, can't be beet."

Hi Lady! Hi GB and Sawsee!

Hey JDH!
Oh and Sawsee?
"Goat Cheese" has to be the worlds WORST marketing scheme.
Would we drink it if everyone called it "Cow Milk" or would we eat pork if they called it "Pig Meat"?
Something less "Barn Yard-ee" might make it more palatable, doncha think?

Sawsee said...

GB! Lol! Totally agree!

From my limited knowledge of the Norman/saxon/germanic influence on the english language, many of the words we use for 'food' have remained:
Cow = boeuf = beef
Pig = porcine = pork
chicken = poulet = poultrey
And yes, even our little goat: goat = chevre
I assume that 'chevre' has not finished the morph into an easier prounciation. e.g. chevy

Would you like a bit of goat cheese on your pig meat? Or roasted pork drizzled in chevre?

GB: A new Rule! Very cool!
You are inspiring me to get reading! I've just looked and I am only 5th in the queue for the third book!
If my wife isn't looking, I may just order the full set!

I wonder if, once the final book is written, the publisher will print a collector's edition of the full set? I may wait until Christmas to see if that happens.
P.S. In your video, I can see a very cool set of LOTR!

I can't eat pork products of any kind for that very reason. The image is just too strong.

Is goat's milk any different than cow's? Taste? Nutrition?

Have you heard the riddle of the guy who ordered flamingo meat, tasted it and then ran outside and took his own life?
JDH

Sawsee said...

Hi JDH!

I believe the nutritional values, of goat and cow milk products, are very similar to eachother. I think Goat tends to have more fat though.

I'm sure you have had 'goat' cheese, as most greek feta is made from goat's milk.

Riddle me Flamingo? One leg? Pink?

I'm not a big fan of 'pork' either. Other than Elmer Fudd!

You guys are too funny! Coming here always puts a smile on my face. Thank you.

Goat's milk has a very strong smell (offensive to me) but goat's milk fudge is delicious!

I'm a beef eater, myself, but I enjoy properly cooked pork too. I'm not real big on fish and fowl, though.

Greybishop said...

"Pig meat" would be bad, but let's face it, not one of us would drink "bovine glandular secretions" unless they called it milk.

Work with the "Goat Cheese" people, Sawsee. They need a marketing board in the worst way.

Sawsee said...

Hi Lady! Glad that we can make you smile! I have never tried Liquid Goat's milk. For some reason 'solid' cheese is palatable to me.
GB! I kind of get stopped by the word 'secretions'.

The 'Goat People' is another great title for a book!

And I bet the characters in it don't make cheese!
'We were lost. In defeat we collapsed to the ground wishing we had a cool glass of bovine juice. Suddenly, we were snapped out of our weariness as a sharp crack was heard, nearby in the bush. It was the GOAT PEOPLE...

Well, I see that the Sens made it to the finals. Too bad that GB can't appreciate it the way you or I would have, Sawsee.

Anaheim and Detroit are playing this afternoon. I think I'll watch the game. I haven't watched any hockey since you know when......

Anonymous said...

Gee, Sawsee, everytime I see Detroit play, I can't help but feel like I'm watching a bunch of Santa Clauses on ice.

Could it be that silly uniform? Time for an upate!

Sawsee said...

Hi Lady! I have not checked this 'tabula' for awhile, so I'm not too sure how old your comments are.
Yes, GB is missing a grand party, on ice!

I'm the same as you Lady: I have not watched a game since our defeat. In fact, I barely keep track of what's happening. OK, I'll admit that it seems like Ottawa will be playing in the finals with that "Western" team, Detroit. So much for timezone hangovers! They'll be so close that the players will be able to take cab rides to the games.

Talking about 'santa' suits, the playoffs will be soon into June which is not hockey! Hockey should be played from October to April, including the playoffs. Who plays 'ice' hockey in the summer?

Hi, Sawsee!

Oh, there's still hope for the timezone shuffle hangover! he he he

Your guy Selanne (sp?) pulled victory out of the jaws of defeat yesterday. It's now 3 to 2, Anaheim!

Sawsee said...

Hi Lady!

Wow! That must have been a good game to watch?

I always feel a bit of a connection to the team that gave our team a defeat. If they can beat the Canucks and 'go' all the way to the finals, then just maybe the Canuckles are a good team afterall.

I'll have to watch the next game. Tuesday?

Anonymous said...

Hi, Sawsee!

Yep, game six is tonight (Tuesday) at 6:00 PDT. The early start sounds odd, but that's what my newspaper said....

Go "Timezone Shuffle Hangover"!!

Sawsee said...

Hi Lady!

It would be interesting to see the the NHL conferences grouped so all teams incurr the same amount of airmiles.

This is a first...pulling for teams based on the most extraordinary "timezone shuffle hangover."

Go Selanne, go! And Buffalo or Ottawa!

Greybishop said...

Yeah, out of the hockey loop, no doubt.
I had NO idea that Ottawa was in the finals.
At one time, when the team first got the go ahead, I was a big fan, but somehow, hockey just doesn't do it for me anymore. I haven't watched a game since Canada/USA in the olympics in '02.
I'm betting there's a frenzy in my hometown right now. I'll have to check some Ottawa papers today...

Hey, GB!

Well, you probably don't mind that Sawsee and I are enjoying a little bit of meanness right now. If Anaheim wins the West, that means the most grueling finals, ever! Four Time Zones!!!

We are feeling mean because the spoiled teams in the Eastern Conference voted against allowing the NHL to realign the divisions and the "8 games against each of your division opponents" rule.

The Western Conference divisions defy logic. For example, Dallas is part of the Pacific Division, two time zones away. It's a really difficult schedule for most of the Western Conference teams. The East doesn't care!

If Ottawa has to play Anaheim in the finals, maybe they'll rethink how hard all of that Time Zone travel is.....

Anonymous said...

Hey, Sawsee!

Bring on the Time Zone Shuffle Hangover! Tee hee hee

It's just too bad that Ottawa won't get to experience the joys of three games in three time zones within four days, multiple times in the season......

Sawsee said...

Hi Lady!

Well, I did miss the game again, but it seems like we got our wish!

If Anaheim can weather the storm the first couple of games, the Eastern folks may begin running out of steam. I wonder if the Senators will ask for an extra 'timeout' to adjust to the 'TZS' Hangover'?

Maybe the players will bring pillows into the player's box?

Anonymous said...

Hey, Sawsee!

I only caught part of the third period. It got kind of nasty on both sides....

Maybe I'm wrong, but I just don't remember that kind of nastiness the year we won the cup.....

Sawsee said...

Hi Lady!

In Vancouver, there were 2 nasties: Bertuzzi and Brashear.

Some critics say that the player's equipment makes them feel invincible and so feel they can't hurt another. Other people say that, ever since the 'third man in' rule, players try to seek revenge behind the scenes.
