Hey, Sawsee! I'm glad that you are keeping this going. Thanks.

We haven't heard from JDH in a while. It's time to check in, JDH!

Hey, no sweat!

I'm here pretty much every day and not as an "I visit his blog because he visits mind" gesture.

This spot ALWAYS has something that makes me think or smile or both.

Hi Sawsee, LinG, LB and GB!
I'm here almost everyday, just lurking a lot.
Joyboost has a new game call poker solitaire, it's addicting.
I'm researching starting a very small business (almost sub-atomically small). It'd be a greenhouse/nursery/orchard/vegetable gardens, with produce and annual flowers to sell at farmer's markets. We were planning on building (DIY) a greenhouse this fall or next spring. I hope to make it a reality. I just got a 50 year old boat trailer (in great shape) I plan to convert into a flat bed landscape trailer. I'm so excited.

Hi All!

Great news JDH! There's been quite a few successful farms around here growing ginseng. I'm not sure if i mentioned we were planning to grow helibores to sell. They are easily divided and grow well in our climate but are relatively undiscovered. Hostas, trilliums, rodgersias and even evergreen conifers can give be a good crop to sell. Or another 'crop' could be various herbs: oregano, thyme, sage, rosemary. Or blueberries!

I'm reading a book called 'Tree Crops' and wish I had black walnuts planted here. They take about 20 years before they start producing bushels of walnuts but what a great resource to have.

Sawsee -
And when you have a need to chop down a black walnut tree, you'd have carpenters for miles around bidding on the wood...

Hey there, Sawsee.
I have a local friend who's wife got a job in B.C. Not sure of the details or locations just yet, but I just KNOW that you and he would hit it off. I'd like to introduce you so that he at least knows one cool guy in B.C....

Hey Greybishop!

"Cool guy"? I better hone up my breakdancing skills, bro!

What industry is she in? They may be shocked to see house prices unless they are posted 'far' out of town.

Let me know where they end up. And thus, the Purple Hatch expands...

You will have to write a book about our PH!
