See & Saw. Hee & Haw. Ohhh & Ahhh. This blog is an ever-growing collection of curios, oddities, and astonishing visual treats. Honest.
Wow! I don't know if it is beautiful photography and repulsive reality. I would like to see this film. That film reminds me of Baraka, Koyaanisqatsi, Powaqqatsi and a third film in 'qatsi series.JDH
Hi JDH! I am not aware of the references you make; I'll have to check them out. Have you checked out the above link, to his personal web site?
I did. His stuff is amazing, and so sad to see. People in power make some very terrible decisions. Those photos look like something out of sci-fi movies. The nickel trailings is very scary.JDH
Yes, it is like a SF movie, like 'Bladerunner'. I watched a documentary on a South American country after all the oil companies had finished drilling. They showed ponds and streams that were once full of fish and a source of drinking water, now replaced with a black sludge, 3 feet deep. Who knows if it ever will heal.
Is it more shocking they didn't cover it up or bury it?JDH
I assume the company thought it would have been too expensive to return the area back to its original state. I heard there was a lawsuit pending over it. I forget the country's name now; it may have been Belize.
