Talk about a tabula rasa!

Hi GB and Lady! Thanks for your concerns. We've been knee deep in compost! And bark mulch.

We are trying to get approx. 100 plants (evergreens, blueberries, huckleberries, maple trees etc.) into the ground before winter arrives. This involves: digging holes and filling & wheeling the wheelbarrow with appropriate soil; wrestling 100 pound conifers while forcing their pots off their rootballs.

Who needs to go to the gym? I am seriously thinking about buying farmer overalls!

Good to hear that all is well at Casa de Sawsee...er, Casa de Canine Ridge...er...

Anyhow...sounds like you don't need the electricity generating treadmill you posted last week...

Hey, Sawsee! Can you post a picture of you in your farmer overalls......? (giggle, giggle)

I'm so glad to hear that all is well. (whew) Happy planting!

Well, I haven't bought the overalls yet, but if i do a photo op may be appropriate!

I'll see if Dan Rather is interested in covering the event!

Hey, Sawsee! The value of my Mike Modano memorabilia just went UP tonight!!!
:-D

hi Lady! I didn't catch the news, although I knew Mike was close to becoming the alltime points getter for an American.

I assume he has reached that lofty plateau!?

Yep! In the San Jose Shark Tank last night. Two goals to tie and surpass the Phil Housley (I think that's his name) record. The Sharks' fans and organization were very gracious about it.

This has been the Stars worst start in forever. Actually, the entire Pacific Division is having a bad start this year. Four of the five teams are within a point of each other.....(sigh)

Hopefully, things will improve for the Stars now that THAT distraction is out of the way. Woo Hoo!

That's a great accomplishment for Mike!

My enthusiasm for our canuckles is at an alltime low!

Ever since the Bertuzzi incident and then the player's strike, the team has been in a downward spiral. I don't think that Naslund is a true team leader; he rarely says anything, and when he does it is with zero excitement. I've always liked Trevor Linden; he was one of the few players on the team that made consistent effort during the playoffs. The Twins are definitely on their way to stardom but they are still not the leaders of the team.

Oh well...I guess I'll watch my beets instead!

LOL! Sawsee, if watching your beets grow is more exciting than hockey, your Canucks are in VERY BIG trouble....

Is it hockey season again?

Didn't we have one of those already?

Sorry, GB! For those teams who go the distance, it's a 9-month season....
:-D

Beets have 2 (or 3) three month seasons each year.

With Hockey there is a lot of grinding work, especially in the corners. Beets are mainly in the ground and there's no penalty to wack the tops off.

When a hockey player is up-rooted they can still survive in another area. This is not true of beets.
