That was just so cool. I remember reading a book called "S.O.L.O." in the late 80's. It was about a military prototype android that got away from it's handlers. Typically forgettable sci-fi "machine with a heart of gold" nonsense.
But.
One part did stick with me though, dealing with the great degree of difficulty in getting a robot to walk on even the smoothest surface.
It seems that 20 years has pretty much solved that.

The robot walks so life-like that, until the guy pushed it, I half-expected to see two people underneath it dressed up in robo-gear.
To see it walking over the rocks was very impressive. Maybe this will replace the Hummer as the new, must-have 'landrover'!
